Paleoplastic is owned by Cathe Curtis, Gettysburg, Pa., and managed by Rick Fulton, also of Gettysburg.
The enterprise essentially evolved from the now-defunct Confederate National Exchange (established in 1988) as a result of a transition made from specializing in Civil War collectibles to 54mm figures.
When Paleoplastic was launched, the thrust was to specialize in vintage prehistoric figures, such as the Marx Prehistoric play set figures, carrying other 45-60mm figures as only a sideline.
During the past year, Paleoplastic has expanded to include prehistoric and "modern" wildlife play set items (i.e. dinosaurs, cavemen, North American and African wildlife figures, terrain features and diorama details), and vintage toy figures relating to ancient history (Ben Hur, etc.), Medieval (Marx Robin Hood, castle and knights play sets), American historical events (Colonial, Alamo, Western, Civil War, WW II, etc.), non-combat civilian figures (American Beauties, Campus Cuties, vintage railroad figures, A&A, Homies), Air Force and outer space, fantasy and horror figures, cars, trucks, fire, police and other vehicles, cartoon (i.e. Flintstones), farm play set items, and aborigine (Native American, African tribal) play set items.
Presently, as a sideline, fossils, artifacts, Civil War relics (here we go again), stamps, and miscellaneous items have been added.
We recently shutdown our eBay store to protest eBay changes and outrageous policies and practices. We believe eBay has run its course and has now lost it's way.
